Pride of a Juggalette Fri, 07 Feb 2020 14:34:01 +0000 If you have ever read some of my music articles, then you are well aware that I despise new music, and I am a juggalette. For those of you who are scratching your head and questioning what that is, it’s a female fan of horrorcore. That’s the official definition, but it is so much more than that. Horrorcore is a genre of music that generally touches on subjects such as murder.

Many juggalettes and juggalos, a male fan of horrorcore, will explain that being a juggalo simply means that they are down to helping other juggalos or juggalettes whenever they can. I also would love to point out that juggalos are not a gang. Some juggalos may be in a gang, but the whole term of a juggalo is not a gang.

I personally love being a juggalette. I love walking around and wearing my hatchet man and seeing people nod and acknowledge that we are in a family together. Some people will think what I am writing about is a waste of time and it is creepy for me to call strangers my family. When I mean family, I don’t mean blood family where we all gather for the holidays, but we do have a thing called the gathering of the juggalos every year.

Everyone feels like they belong somewhere and some people will never understand how I feel. People will always think this is a phase, and who knows? It could be a phase, but still, I love and feel pride for my juggalo family.

I have always loved the circus and carnival rides, I think that was a big influence on how I turned out so far. It probably doesn’t help that I grew up on rock music and watched Alice Cooper do wild stunts in his concerts.

I love watching music videos of Twiztid and Insane Clown Posse. I love watching them rap while wearing face paint and doing things that many music artists wouldn’t dare do for fear of being rejected or put down.

Every person who has felt like they have found where they belong will also tell you that they have a few dislikes for the group they feel like they belong in, I am no exception. My whole rant on what irritates me about the juggalos is for another time though.

Music to be Murdered By: Eminem in every Color Thu, 06 Feb 2020 15:02:04 +0000 Eminem released his new album Music To Be Murdered By on January 17, 2020. This new album brings a lot of great things by Eminem, from guest features to a world record in “Godzilla”. This album is mostly about Eminem’s past from his parents to his unfaithful relationships. It generally goes through his life and shares like he is in a Narcotics Anonymous meeting.
This album is great and features a lot more collaboration than Eminem has ever done. I recommend this album to anyone who likes rap from deep to mumble rap. There is a little of everything for everyone.

Track 1: Premonition
The intro to the album, “Premonition”, starts out with a talking intro and then Nikki Grier sings the chorus. This song is about people having premonitions toward Eminem and how he is dealing with the problems he is facing.

Track 2: Unaccommodating(feat.Young M.A)
“Unaccommodating” shows the difference between new rap and old rap by starting out with Young M.A rapping about girls, guns, and money. With no transitions, it shifts straight into Eminem rapping about his past diss tracks on other people, namely Machine Gun Kelly.

Track 3: You Gon’ Learn(feat.Royce Da 5’9” & White Gold)
“You Gon’ Learn” feels like the slowest song on this album. The song starts out with White Gold singing the chorus. It goes to Royce Da 5’9” singing the first verse. The second verse is by Eminem rapping about his past.

Track 4:Those kinda nights(feat. Ed Sheeran)
“Those Kinda Nights” is a great party song that you can really chill to and have a good time with. This song features Ed Sheeran who has worked with Eminem before in “River” this song takes a lighter side with one of the most creative Eminem lines in a while, “Seriously though, jokes aside, how you doin’? You straight?” She said, “No, I’m bi” She said, “Are you drunk?,” I said, “No, I’m high I’m checkin’ out the chick,” she said, “So am I”.”

Track 5: In Too Deep
“In Too Deep” is about a secret relationship where he realizes that he really loves the girl that he is hiding from the world and isn’t sure who he wants to go with. You can tell Eminem is really conflicted about what to do, “But now the lines are getting super blurred. Can’t tell if I’m cheating on her with you or cheating on you with her.”.
Track 6: Godzilla(feat. Juice WRLD)
“Godzilla” is the fastest song on this album, actually breaking a world record with 224 words or 330 syllables in 31 seconds (7.23 words per second). This is also Eminem’s first posthumous feature.

Track 7: Darkness
“Darkness” is about the struggle people have with anxiety and drug abuse which cause shootings in schools and public places. Eminem raps about how the people who do mass shootings are just lonely and need someone to talk to. Eminem really gets in touch with the type of people who do mass shootings.

Track 8: Leaving Heaven(feat. Skylar Grey)
“Leaving Heaven” is about Eminem’s upbringing and getting out of that awful life. With a throwback to another song of his (Toy Soldiers) this track goes in deep and lets us look through Eminem’s life.

Track 9: Yah Yah (feat. Royce Da 5’9”, Black Thought, Q-tip, & Denaun)
“Yah Yah” is a fast upbeat song without a real meaning that sounds like bragging. It is still the kind of song you would want to listen to with a very catchy chorus. All of the musicians come together and bring along their style of raping and quotes from legends like Ice Cube and Wu-Tang.

Track 10: Stepdad
“Stepdad” is a song that gets straight to the point with it being about how much he hates his stepdad. Chorus: “I, I, hate My, my stepdad (Stepdad) So tonight I’m sayin’, Bye-bye stepdad (Stepdad)”. This song covered all the things that his stepdad did to him and his fantasy of killing his stepdad.

Track 11: Marsh
“Marsh” is about how Eminem feels like he doesn’t belong anywhere. He also talks about people’s opinions of him, not releasing albums in the past but releasing more in these past few years.

Track 12: Never Love Again
In “Never Love Again” Eminem raps about a relationship he misses and wants back. It is also an apology to his ex. I don’t like this song that much because it makes Eminem seem really selfish

Track 13: Little Engine
“Little Engine” starts with an introduction by Alfred Hitchcock. Eminem then moves onto rapping about how someone from a small upbringing can go big and how there are plenty of people who do.

Track 14: Lock It Up(feat. Anderson .Paak)
“Lock It Up” is a song about “hood” life. It starts with a nice beat and has a nice introduction. I like this song because it makes me think of an old rap style from Eminem again the only problem is the song really doesn’t have a meaning with it.

Track 15: Farewell
In “Farewell” Eminem raps about leaving a relationship where he really doesn’t want to be with the woman anymore. Eminem comes in with a catchy chorus saying goodbye to her. He keeps calling her names and really is the worst song on this album.

Track 16: No Regrets(feat. Don Toliver)
“No Regrets” starts out with Don Toliver on the chorus, then Eminem rapping about things he has done and that he doesn’t regret it. This song has a nice hook with a deep bass boosted sounding beat.

Track 17: I Will(feat. Royce da 5’9”, KXNG Crooked, Joell Ortiz)
“I Will” starts with Eminem speaking the intro then singing the chorus. The song then goes to Royce Da 5’9” singing the first verse talking about “mumble rappers”. Then it goes to the second verse with KXNG Crooked rapping about killing people. Then Joell Ortiz and Eminem finishing up the album.

TV Shows That Were Most Popular the Years We Were Born Thu, 06 Feb 2020 14:40:05 +0000 TV shows have been on our screens for decades, but in more recent years, 2001-2007 more specifically, there have been some pretty iconic series. Surprisingly, not everybody knows these shows that were popular the year they were born.

2001 – Fairly OddParents – Timmy Turner, a ten-year-old boy, has a rough life. Parents who are completely clueless and a wicked babysitter make his life terrible, but his fairy godparents, who grant his every wish, make his life a little easier.

“My favorite memory of the show is probably when Cosmo got pregnant with their kid,” Ally Nix, senior, said.

“That show was on crack. Basically a loser kid imagined that he had fairy godparents who granted him wishes,” Zane Foster, senior, said.

2002 – Friends – Three men and three women who are all BFFs living in NYC are always finding themselves in hilarious situations, usually caused by their attempt at relationships.

“I’ve never seen Friends, but I know that it’s about a bunch of friends that are living in the city together and their lives are crazy,” Taylor Dowell, junior, said.

“I’ve seen some episodes, but I know it’s about like a big friend group that is kinda’….uhh different. Monica is kind of like an insane freak to me, and then Rachel, she’s uhhh OUT there, let me tell ya. Then, Ross, he’s kind of ehh, emotionally unstable. Pheobe, Pheobe, she’s my favorite. She’s the fun one, the outgoing one. She’s not all there, but she’s there, kinda. Joey, oh, Joey’s just hot. Chandler has a dad-bod.” Kalissa Wile, senior, said.

2003 – That’s So Raven – Raven Baxter can see glimpses of the future and uses her schemes and misadventures to try and change small outcomes with the help of her friends.

“My favorite episode was the one where she had to dress up like one of the cooks in this like pasta restaurant, and she ended up in the back in this dumpster or something with pasta all over her,” Alicia Luna, junior, said.

2004 – Drake and Josh – Drake and Josh couldn’t be more different, and now that they’re step-brothers, they’ll have to get used to each other. With all of their misadventures, they find themselves getting in all kinds of trouble while learning to love each other.

“My favorite thing I remember about the show was when they were shoving those sushi things in their mouths and they were hiding and throwing them because they couldn’t package them fast enough,” Lea Vowell, freshman, said.

“My favorite memory of the show was when they went to this tropical island and they got stuck there,” Luke Foster, freshman, said.

2005 – The Office – Set in the Dunder-Mifflin paper company, the show follows the company’s staff and the workdays in a mockumentary style.

“Ummm. He (Michael) screams at everyone,” Kylie Carrasco, eighth-grader, said.

“I’ve never seen the show,” Hailey Sutton, eighth-grader, said.

2006 – Hannah Montana – Miley Stewart lives a double life as Hannah Montana, singing superstar. Almost everyone at her school just knows her as Miley and has no clue of her secret life.

“I’m watching it right now……on Disney +. Hannah, well Miley, has to deal with both parts of her life. Like the famous part and her normal teenager part,” Alexa Delgado, eighth-grader, said.

“Ummm. It’s about Hannah trying to live as a normal teenager and as a celebrity,” McKayla Howerton, eighth-grader, said.

2007 – iCarly – Carly Shay gets her life turned upside down because of her web-show “iCarly.” She’s typically joined by Sam and Freddie, her two friends, and her brother Spencer.

“My favorite memory of the show is just Gibby. Everything he did was hilarious,” Imaya Littlejohn, seventh-grader, said.

“Sam beating everyone with her butter-sock was is my favorite memory of the show,” Nicolas Sullins, seventh-grader, said.

With streaming services today, students of all ages can turn back time and enjoy the shows that were most popular the year they were born.

The Coronavirus Affects Thousands Tue, 04 Feb 2020 19:20:57 +0000 The Coronavirus is a common virus that causes an infection in a person’s nose, sinuses, or upper throat. It was first identified in the 1960’s, but there was no trace of where it came from.

Coronavirus can spread the same way as any other cold-viruses do through infected people coughing and sneezing, by touching an infected person’s hands or face, or by touching doorknobs that infected people have touched.

Common symptoms of the Coronavirus are similar to any other upper respiratory infections including, runny nose, coughing, sore throat, and sometimes a fever.

To prevent the virus from infecting you, wash your hands and fingers, away from your eyes, nose, and mouth. Avoid all contact with people who are infected.

Treating the Coronavirus is similar to treating a cold. Get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, and take over-the-counter medicine for a sore throat and fever.

In the United States, there have been a total of 11 cases so far, including six in California, one in Washington state, one in Arizona, two in Illinois and one in Massachusetts. More than 80 other Americans have been treated for the virus. Worldwide cases for the Coronavirus is 17,481.
